Pontyclun Area
A thriving collection of various towns and villages, the Pontyclun area has seen a sharp rise in its population over the last few decades with droves of people arriving southward from the South Wales Valleys and westwards from Cardiff. Set 16 miles west of Cardiff and just off junction 34 of the M4 the Pontyclun area is a fantastic commuter location and is also well served by having multiple train stations on the South Wales Main Line. The area consists of the of principle settlements of Pontyclun, Llantrisant, Talbot Green, Groesfaen, Miskin, Llanharan and Llanharry.
The area is able to boast a plethora of local shops and amenities with all of the settlements able to boast bustling high streets catering for most needs. The area is most notably home to two large retail parks set in the Talbot Green retail park and offers a selection of shops, supermarkets, cafes and restaurants.
Owing to its burgeoning population, the area consists of a range of modern build housing set in leafy estates whilst also being able to offer plenty of older, more characterful properties. The area also offers a wide choice of schools for families a features a number of primary and secondary schools, most notably, the well thought of Y Pant Comprehensive School and the Welsh speaking Ysgol Gyfun Llanhari.
