Cilfynydd
Running alongside the A470 link road and the River Taff lays Cilfynydd, another former mining village that owes its existence to the sinking of the Albion Colliery. The village is situated approximately two miles north of Pontypridd town centre and is able to boast a number of local shops and amenities as well as the English speaking schools of Cilfynydd Primary and Pontypridd High School. Given that it is situated so close to the A470 road, Cilfynydd is another popular location for commuters due to the easy access to towns such as Cardiff and Merthyr Tydfil that it can provide.
